Vision Africa Doctrine
We believe that God's love transcends social class, political affiliation, interest group, color, religion, race, tribe, social location and every human understanding.
God: We believe in one God, who has been pleased
to reveal Himself in the person of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.
God the Father is the creator of everything both seen and unseen.
God the Son redeems the whole creation. God the Holy Spirit sustains
the whole creation. The essence of God is what has been referred to
in the classical Christian terms as the Trinity.
The Church: We believe that the church was inaugurated
on the day of Pentecost to continue the ministry of incarnation in
order to reconcile the whole creation to God.
The Bible: We believe that the Holy Bible contains
the inspired word of God. People under the inspiration of the Holy
Spirit wrote it. The Bible contains all things necessary for salvation.
Creation: We believe that God is the creator of all
things both seen and unseen. God is therefore bringing all creation
to the knowledge of God through the work of atonement done on the
cross by Jesus Christ.
Mission: “The great commission” (Matt.
28:18ff) is a missionary statement made by Jesus before he ascended
into heaven. It is a call for the people of God to be in mission to
search for the lost. This mission started in the Garden of Eden. Adam
and Eve sinned against God and God put in plan a searching program.
Therefore, each believer is to search for the lost through word, act
and deed. God brings those who respond into a lifelong discipleship.
Ministry: We believe that in the church of Christ,
people have various gifts and each person is called upon to exercise
his or her gifts and graces with humility and respect for human dignity.
Sin: We believe that the sin of the first man and
woman made every person a sinner. We therefore believe that in Jesus,
the second Adam, all who believe become righteous through the blood
of Jesus and is reconciled to God for eternal life. We also believe
that the whole creation is in search of salvation.
Religions and Cultures: We believe that God has not
left any people without a witness. Therefore, we must be humble as
we share our faith with people of other cultures and religions. We
must treat other people and religions with respect, treat their holy
ground with humility and share our faith without compromise.
Grace: We believe that we are saved by grace. There
is no human effort that can bring about salvation.
The End: We believe that a day is coming when God
will bring into existence a new heaven and a New World. This is the
eschatological glory that awaits all believers. We also believe that
both the living and the dead will receive their rewards according
to their deeds.
