Proposed Long-Term Plan
We are working in partnership with the local leadership in Africa, not only to provide medical services during periodic mission trips, but also to build a permanent Vision Africa Medical Center.??Nigeria is our first focus. We invite you to consider donating funds to help make this a reality. Your gift and services will bring smiles to many faces that have lost hope in Nigeria.
Objective: Our aim is to provide a way for those in need to experience hope through the gift of medicine. Medical missions are a key channel through which the gospel of love as expressed by Jesus Christ is preached in concrete terms. God is calling us to respond to the needs of the people.
Location: We have prayerfully decided to locate the center in Nigeria, where the Abia State government has donated one acre of land to Vision Africa for this purpose.
This permanent center will serve as a hub of medical outreach activity, projecting missions to many parts of the African Continent. It will provide a place for medical personnel to stay when volunteering their time and services.
Cost: The project will be developed in three phases. Estimated total cost of the medical center is $1,075,000
PHASE ONE: Estimated cost: $275,000
Part A. The Residence - Outreach Medical Center Estimated Cost: $82,407.87
We will build an Outreach Medical Center in response to calls for a base for our many volunteers who come to Africa and our African Medical Team who are engaged in Mobile Medical Outreach in many parts.
Part B. The first facility will be the outpatient department, which will include laboratory, X-ray, pharmacy, four consulting rooms, eight short-term stay beds, with administrative offices and conference rooms upstairs. Estimated cost: $142,592.13.
Part C. To procure a mobile clinic and ambulance to take medical services to villages. This will include treatment, referral of patients to the main hospital, vaccinations and preventative education. Estimated cost: $50,000
PHASE TWO: Estimated cost: $400,000
Expand the facility to include inpatient wards for men, women and
children. There will also be a chapel built at this time.
PHASE THREE: Estimated cost: $400,000
To begin the surgical and obstetrical suite to allow full services
to the communities. A sterilizing unit and room, along with incinerator
and morgue. Housing will be built to accommodate full-time missionaries,
visitors and on call personnel.
