Sharing God’s Love

In 2018, Vision Africa continued the legacy of providing vital Christian and medical outreach ministry, planting churches and encouraging peace and reconciliation to the people of Nigeria and beyond.

RADIO MINISTRY

  • 20 million people reached
  • Vision Africa 104.1FM is now streaming on the internet; www.galcom10412234.com
  • Due to a matching grant from our radio partner, Galcom International, 500 solar radios have been given to deserving listeners. The radios are tuned only to Vision Africa radio 104.1FM. In addition, the entire Bible is loaded in audio plus many of Bishops Sunday’s messages.

MEDIA INSTITUTE AND LEADERSHIP TRAINING

  • Professional radio and media training was held for 6 days
  • 201 radio staff, media students and local government broadcasters attended
  • Methodist ministers from Congo, Kenya and South Africa attended to learn about Christian radio

BIBLES FOR PASTORS

  • 160 newly ordained clergy were given new teaching Bibles
  • Over 3,000 Bibles have been given to new ministers since 2001

MEDICAL MISSIONS

  • 3,125 patients received free medical treatment as well as medicine
  • 54 Nigerian doctors and nurses volunteered and conducted the free clinics
  • Free clinics were held for three days at four different locations

EVANGELISM AND CHURCH PLANTING

  • Four churches were planted in honor of (1) Ginger Murchison Fdn. (2) Fran and Don Jackson (3) Sue and Don Wills (4) in honor of Bill Armstrong
  • In each church plant new congregations were overflowing

PEACE & RECONCILIATION

  • The United Nations asked Bishop Sunday to facilitate a peace conference. More than 50 faith leaders from all parts of Nigeria signed a peace accord.
  • Public Peace Conference held in the Abia State Government conference center. Invited speakers included – Sheikh Maraya, Senator Nwachukwu, Abdularahman Dambazau, Dr Ogala Osoka, Elizabeth Bashara, Emilia Asim-ita

Gikson’s Story – Saved from Suicide

Gikson, a listener of our radio station, told how a late-night broadcast seemed to speak directly to him and saved him from committing suicide.

“Why did you not harm yourself?” the preacher asked. As he tells the story, Gikson touches the solar-powered radio suspended on a lanyard around his neck. It was that radio he was listening to on that dark night of the soul.

We Praise the Lord for the Following

  • Raised $300,000
  • 287 attendees
  • A challenge grant of $135k was met and exceeded.
  • For the 10th year we were awarded a generous challenge grant from the Ginger Murchison Fdn to fund peace and reconciliation and radio training.

  • Vision Africa held its first event for young professionals to meet Bishop Sunday

  • Raised $200,000
  • 120 golfers

  • Donors and friends traveled to Nigeria
  • They witnessed & helped with all the ministries

Our History

Vision Africa Ministries, Inc. is a faith-based mission organization whose purpose is to “Share God’s Love” with the African people. Vision Africa empowers Africans through faith-based education, radio broadcasts, medical missions, evangelism, church plants, Bibles for pastors, prison ministry, orphanage, leadership development, and peace and reconciliation. All of these mission activities are managed in part through our Dallas Board of Directors and Executive Director. U.S. fundraising provides close to 100% of the funds necessary to make all these areas of ministry possible until they become self sustaining.

Established in 1997, Vision Africa began with Billy Graham-style crusades.

  • 136 churches have been planted, each with a crusade and a medical mission.
  • Over 750,000 people have been directly helped through medical missions.
  • In 2007, Vision Africa partnered with leading U.S. Christian radio station KCBI to establish LOVE 104.1 FM, a 50,000 watt community service, education, health and leadership radio station reaching a population of more than 20 million people.
  • 150 – 200 Bibles provided to Pastors each year
