Our Story
Vision Africa originated as exactly that – a vision from God to our founder, Bishop Dr. Sunday Onuoha. As a child, Sunday experienced the hardships of the Nigerian Civil War, yet he witnessed his mother’s unwavering faith in God. This planted the seeds of his spiritual journey. At 14, he encountered the story of Jesus Christ and committed his life to sharing God’s love with others.
Sunday pursued ministry, serving in the Methodist Church in Nigeria and earning degrees in theology. In 1995, he completed his doctorate at Southern Methodist University, where he wrote his thesis on a God-inspired vision for African development—what would become Vision Africa Ministries.
What started as a flicker of faith in a young boy grew into a powerful mission, touching thousands of lives across Nigeria.

We deliver empowering aid that heals the mind, body, and soul so that everyone we serve can experience God’s love and live abundant lives. By listening first and responding with action, we ensure our programs make the greatest impact.
